Know the second the power fails.
Even when you're not there.

OutagePing turns a spare Android phone into a mains-power sensor. If the electricity fails, it sounds the alarm — and if nobody reacts, it texts and calls the people you choose.

How it works

Any spare Android phone becomes a power-failure sensor in three steps.

1

Plug it in

Put a spare Android phone on its charger at the place you want to monitor — home, a relative's apartment, the server closet.

2

Arm OutagePing

The app watches the charger's power feed — even when the battery sits at 100%. Micro-cuts are filtered out automatically.

3

Escalating alerts

Power fails → popup, then a loud siren. Nobody stops it? OutagePing texts your contacts and phone-calls the first one.

The dead-man's switch ☁️

Other apps go quiet when the phone dies. OutagePing Pro's cloud notices the silence. Your phone reports in every few minutes; if it stops reporting mid-blackout — router down, battery dead — our servers alert your contacts anyway.

Freezer & food

A dark fridge for six hours ruins hundreds in groceries — and you'd never know.

An elderly parent's home

Their power fails, your phone rings. You call, you drive over, you fix it.

Aquarium & pets

Pumps, heaters and filters stop silently. Minutes matter.

Questions, answered

Does it still detect the outage when the battery is already at 100%?

Yes — that's the core of the design. OutagePing watches whether the charger is supplying power, not whether the battery is charging. When mains power dies, the charger's voltage disappears instantly, and OutagePing reacts — even at 100%.

What if my Wi-Fi router dies in the blackout too?

The local alarm always works. For cloud SMS/calls, we recommend a SIM with mobile data in the monitoring phone — cell towers have backup power. And Pro's dead-man's switch alerts your contacts even if the phone can't reach us at all.

Can I stop a false alarm?

Yes. The first stage is a quiet popup with a STOP button and a configurable delay before anything loud or external happens. Unplugged the phone on purpose? One tap and nothing else fires.

Why isn't the SMS/call feature part of the one-time price?

Because sending texts and placing calls costs us real money per message, every month. The app you buy once is fully functional on its own; Pro covers the ongoing cloud and carrier costs.

Is this a certified safety system?

No. OutagePing is a consumer alerting aid and shouldn't be the only safeguard for life-critical equipment. It's the difference between finding out in minutes and finding out too late — but please keep professional systems where lives depend on it.
