Who operates this service

OutagePing ("we") provides a power-failure alerting app and optional cloud service. This policy explains exactly what we store and why. We do not sell your data or show ads.

What we store

Account: your email address (for sign-in and receipts) and, if you subscribe, a billing customer ID from our payment processor. Devices: a name you choose, the app version, battery percentage, power state (on mains / on battery), and heartbeat timestamps — used to detect outages. Watchers (Pro): which accounts you have allowed to watch which phone, an optional name they choose for it, and a push token per handset so their phone can be woken. We do not ask for or store phone numbers. Outage history: when outages were detected and which alerts were sent, for your portal and troubleshooting.

We do not collect location coordinates — only the free-text label you type (e.g. "home"). We do not access your contacts list, photos, or files, and the app holds no permission to read messages or place calls.

Why we store it

To detect that a monitored phone has lost mains power, to wake the people you allowed to watch it in their own copy of OutagePing, and to provide your account portal and billing.

Subprocessors

We share the minimum necessary data with: Paddle (payments & merchant of record), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (delivers the alert to a watcher's handset — receives that handset's push token and the alert text at send time), Resend (account email, such as your sign-in code), and Render (hosting & database).

Retention

Event and outage records are retained for 12 months, then purged. You can delete your account at any time from the portal, which cascades and removes your devices, watcher links, and history and cancels any subscription.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and other applicable privacy laws), you may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data. Contact our contact form.
